We have many beaches close nearby, most are quiet and secluded, with dramatic cliffs and rocky coves in place of any beach facilities. Bude is a short drive away in either direction, and offer large sandy beaches with more usual resort facilities, including Surfboard hire and lessons - Bude is one of the most popular surfing spots in the UK.

Nearby, Docton Mill and Hartland Abbey both have extensive grounds which are open to the public. Clovelly Court Gardens are beautifully restored Victorian gardens, where plants are available to purchase. Further afield, The Eden Project is an amazing experience and Rosemoor, near Torrington is a Royal Horticultural Society Garden.

Hartland is a very popular area with walkers, as twelve miles of the South West Coast Path follows the Hartland Peninsula. It affords splendid views, great walking and interesting wildlife.

There are many National Trust sites nearby, such as Brownsham - famous for its bluebell walk - and Sites of Special Scientific Interest such as Bursdon Moor, home to curlews and larks, and also a good site for spotting peregrine falcons, short-eared owls and hen harriers.
